£315 per person

 

Price Includes: 4 night’s Dinner, Bed & Breakfast accommodation at the 3 star Bells Hotel & Forest of Dean Golf Club, Coleford, with Turkey Tinsel themed entertainment each evening.  There is no lift at this hotel, but there are over 30 ground floor bedrooms, which must be requested at the time of booking if required.  Visits to Bristol, Abergavenny, Monmouth, Chepstow,  Hereford, Ross-on-Wye and Street are also included.

 

There will be no single room supplement for the first 5 guests to book, additional single rooms can be requested and will be subject to a supplement.  

Monday

We depart Plymouth at 9am and head to Bristol for a lunch stop where you will also have time for shopping or a stroll along to the harbour area where you will find the SS Great Britain and waterside cafes. We leave here mid-late afternoon and continue our journey onto our hotel in Gloucestershire where we will spend the next 4 nights.

Tuesday

This morning we will head across the border into Wales and visit Abergavenny where it is market day. It is located on the south east corner of the Brecon Beacons National Park and has beautiful black mountains as a backdrop. This afternoon we head back to Monmouth, famous for its unique 13th century Monnow Bridge. It is situated where the River Minnow meets the River Wye just 2 miles from the English border.

Wednesday

We travel through the Wye Valley today, making a coffee stop at the magnificent ruins of Tintern Abbey. We then continue onto the historic walled border town of Chepstow, which is dominated by the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain. This afternoon we return to our hotel where you can relax and enjoy your surroundings or take a stroll into the small market town of Coleford approx. 10 minutes walk from the hotel.

Thursday

The historic Cathedral city of Hereford is our destination this morning. This is an old walled city dating from Saxon times. You can view the famous Mappa Mundi and the world’s largest Chained Library. We then return via the historic market town of Ross-on-Wye, which is perched on a cliff dramatically overlooking the River Wye on the Welsh borders.

Friday

Sadly we must leave this beautiful area this morning, but will make a stop at Clarks Village, Street for lunch and perhaps a spot of Christmas shopping for your loved ones. We leave here mid afternoon aiming to arrive back into Plymouth early evening.
