Tuesday

Salisbury is our destination today - where it is market day. This magnificent medieval city has it all; historic streets and alleyways, charming half-timbered buildings, traditional English eating houses and characterful shopping streets. It also boasts the UK’s finest medieval Cathedral with the tallest spire in Britain, Europe’s oldest working clock and the world’s best preserved Magna Carta.

Wednesday

You can take advantage of your hotel’s surroundings and explore Bournemouth as today is a free day to spend at your leisure.

Thursday

Today we visit Winchester, a town packed with historic buildings, museums and tranquil green spaces just waiting to be explored. There is Winchester Cathedral, one of the largest in England, which has been a place of worship for over 900 years and has hidden treasures such as the Winchester Bible and Jane Austen’s tomb. There is also the Great Hall and King Arthur’s Round Table which are the only parts of the 13th century Castle which remains above ground. The Westgate Museum is a fortified medieval gateway which served as a debtor’s prison for over 150 years. The Military Museum has one of the most sizeable collections of regimental history outside London in the form of five museums.

Friday

After breakfast we begin our journey home, we will follow the scenic road home, stopping for lunch at Dorchester. We then continue our journey aiming to arrive back into Plymouth late afternoon.
