Today you can step on board the famous SS Great Britain - designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel she was the world’s first iron-hulled propeller driven ship to successfully cross the Atlantic and the forerunner of modern passenger liners. Explore the deck, dockside and below the spectacular glass sea for a unique view of Brunel’s revolutionary engineering. The Dockyard Museum tells the ships remarkable story from her launch in 1843 right through to her rescue from the bottom of the South Atlantic and her triumphant return to Bristol. Finish the tour with a sailor’s lunch consisting of homemade soup of the day served with a selection of sandwiches. The remainder of your afternoon will be free to explore Bristol city centre.

We head down to Aerospace Bristol today to visit Concorde 216; designed, built and tested in Bristol, she was the last Concorde to be built and the last to fly. The exhibit consists of two hangars – A grade II listed WWI hangar taking guests on a journey through time from the earliest days of flight through to the modern day and the brand new one designed and built specifically to house Concorde. We complete our visit with the opportunity to view Concorde up closely and even board this fabulous aircraft that carried many rich and famous people in its heyday. After our visit we start our journey home, aiming to arrive back into Plymouth late afternoon.
