Monday

This morning we continue our journey to Fort William, one of the Highlands major resorts in a dramatic setting on the shore of Loch Linnhe, lying under the shadow of Britain’s highest mountain - Ben Nevis.

Tuesday

All aboard the Jacobite Steam Train, regarded as one of the world’s greatest rail journeys, on a single journey between Fort William and Mallaig and follow in the footsteps of Harry Potter along the route used by the Hogwarts Express. From views of mighty Ben Nevis, your memorable journey leads past the deepest freshwater loch in Britain, Loch Morar and over the famous 21 arch Glenfinnan viaduct - a truly magical experience!

B, D

Wednesday

Relax and explore Fort William today at your leisure, maybe enjoy a wonderful cruise down Loch Linnhe (not included in the tour price) and enjoy the breath-taking scenery of Lochaber, hopefully catching a glimpse of some of Scotland’s best wildlife including porpoise, common and grey seals and maybe even a golden eagle, along with some of the best views of the southern slopes of Ben Nevis. In the historic town centre you will find the West Highland Museum which focuses on regional life and history. The most unusual collection relates to Bonnie Prince Charlie and the Jacobite cause.

B, D

Thursday

We travel north east to Inverness this morning - the ‘Capital of the Highlands’ with its host of historic buildings. This afternoon we will enjoy a wonderfully relaxing one hour cruise on Loch Ness under the shadow of the ruins of Urquhart Castle and maybe catch a glimpse of Nessie! If time allows, we will also visit the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge.

B, D

Friday

After breakfast we leave our hotel and travel to Oban, our base for the next four nights.

B, D

Saturday

Relax on the ferry from Oban to Craignure on the enchanting Isle of Mull. We head via Glen More to Fionnphort to board a foot passenger only ferry for the short crossing to the tranquil Isle of Iona. Discover its Abbey (admission not included) and the burial place of Scottish Kings. Although a tiny island, Iona is full of history and heritage, with Christianity at its heart.

B, D

Sunday.

You will have a free day to explore the coastal resort of Oban at your leisure, it is known as the ‘Gateway to the Isles’. Why not stroll along the Esplanade, visit McCaig’s Tower which overlooks the town, enjoy a wee dram at the distillery and visit the War & Peace Museum (attractions not included in the tour price).

B, D

Monday.

We begin our journey home today, travelling along the shores of Loch Lomond to our overnight hotel in the Lake District at Shap.
