Saturday

We depart Plymouth at 7.30am and head towards Sanders Garden World for a coffee stop. We then continue our journey on towards London for your afternoon visit to Hampton Court Palace. This Royal Palace is in the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, Greater London, and the historic county of Middlesex; it has not been inhabited by the British Royal Family since the 18th century. It was originally built for Cardinal Thomas Wolsey, a favourite of King Henry VIII, as Wolsey fell from favour, the Palace was passed to the King, who enlarged it. We then travel the short distance onto our hotel where you will have time to relax before our evening meal is served.

After breakfast we head to The Tower of London for your morning visit. It was founded by William the Conqueror in 1066-67, spanning 1,000 years of British history. Through the centuries that followed successive monarchs added to the fortifications, and it holds some of the most remarkable stories, along with the dazzling display of the 23,578 gems that make up the crown jewels, including the world’s most famous diamonds. It’s famous "Beefeaters" are now responsible for guarding the jewels and are often seen strolling the grounds in their historic uniform acting as tour guides.
