PLEASE NOTE As our 2018 brochure was in the final stages of going to print we were informed that the Ocean Hotel, Sandown (that we used for many years) was closing down as it had been acquired by property developers, therefore the entry in our brochure shows the hotel name to be confirmed.

Meanwhile our agents have sourced a suitable alternative for us which is the 3 star Shanklin Hotel, overlooking Shanklin Beach and Sandown Bay, however, they could not secure the exact dates we had printed in our brochure, so our brochure is now incorrect and the dates shown on our website are accurate and should be used for planning your holiday.

Day One

We depart Plymouth at 8am, making a coffee stop and a longer lunch stop along the way, before catching our ferry across to the Isle of Wight. We will arrive at our hotel to check in late afternoon where you can relax before enjoying your first evening meal.

Day Two

We take a trip around the island today, taking in Alum Bay and The Needles, the western most bay of the island, at the most westerly tip is the Needles with its 3 chalk Monoliths, stretching out to the Solent. We return to the hotel via the pretty inland village of Godshill with its charming thatch roofed cottages, delightful medieval church, wonderful model village, tearooms and gift shops.

Day Three

This morning we travel to Cowes, popular with visitors since Victorian times, situated on the west bank of the Medina river. It rightly claims to be the home of the world’s first yacht club and the spiritual home of international yacht racing. Cowes has some very upmarket shops along with a host of quirky and individual emporiums making the town one of the best shopping centres on the island. We then travel to the seaside resort of Ryde with its long stretch of golden sand, pretty esplanade, marina and beautiful gardens. Take a stroll along the famous pier, the oldest in England, or admire the many boats moored in the busy harbour.

B, D

Day Four

A free day today to relax and enjoy the hotels position and spend the day in Shanklin. Alternatively your driver will take to you Osborne House, (price not included – allow approx. £15 pp). You have the chance to explore Queen Victoria’s one-time residence on the island. Built as a holiday home in the late 1840s, the Italianate palace boasts spectacular views across the Solent. We take an intimate glimpse of royal family life as we wander through the magnificent Royal Apartments as well as the walled gardens and grounds where we find the charming Swiss Cottage, used by the royal children to learn household management.

B, D

Day Five

After breakfast we make our way back to the ferry port for our crossing back to the mainland. We will make suitable comfort / meal breaks on our journey back to Plymouth aiming to arrive early evening.
