Price Incl:  4 night's Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at the Ocean Hotel, Sandown plus return ferry crossings and daily excursions as listed.  This hotel has a working lift to the majority of its rooms, although some rooms do not have lift access.  Please request a room near the lift at time of booking if required.

 

•There is no single room supplement for the first 4 guests to book, extra single rooms are on request and will incur a £80 supplement.

 

We have a limited number of twin and double bedded rooms available with a guaranteed sea view on a first come first served basis, these rooms will incur a supplement of £44 (£22 per person) and will need to be requested at time of booking.

Monday

We depart Bretonside at 8am, making a coffee stop along the way, before making a lunch stop at the lovely village of Lyndhurst in the New Forest. We then continue our journey to catch our ferry across to the Isle of Wight. We will arrive at our hotel to check in late afternoon where you can relax before enjoying your first evening meal.

Tuesday

We take a trip around the island today, taking in Alum Bay and The Needles the western most bay of the island, at the most westerly tip is the Needles with its 3 chalk Monoliths, stretching out to the Solent. We return to the hotel via the pretty inland village of Godshill with its charming thatch roofed cottages, delightful medieval church, wonderful model village, tearooms and gift shops.

Wednesday

Today we journey back to a bygone era as we board the Isle of Wight Steam Railway at Havenstreet and enjoy a picturesque ride, passing through quaint rural stations, quiet hamlets, unspoilt countryside and ancient woodlands to the seaside resort of Ryde. We spend some time at leisure here, with its long stretch of golden sand, pretty esplanade, marina and beautiful gardens. Take a stroll along the famous pier, the oldest in England, or admire the many boats moored in the towns busy harbour.

Thursday

A free day today to relax and enjoy the hotels central location and spend the day in Sandown. Alternatively your driver will take to you Osborne House, (price not included - allow approx. £15 pp). You have the chance to explore Queen Victoria’s one-time residence on the island. Built as a holiday home in the late 1840s, the Italianate palace boasts spectacular views across the Solent. We take an intimate glimpse of royal family life as we wander through the magnificent Royal Apartments as well as the walled gardens and grounds where we find the charming Swiss Cottage, used by the royal children to learn household management.

Friday

After breakfast we make our way back to the ferry port for our mid-morning ferry crossing. We will visit Weymouth for a lunch break before continuing our journey back to Plymouth aiming to arrive early evening.
