Price Includes:  4 night's Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at the 3 star Wortley Hall Hotel, Sheffield which is located in a tranquil rural setting within 26 acres of gardens and woodland.  Attractions include a single journey on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and a summer wine tour.

 

There will be no single room supplement for the first 5 guests to book, extra single rooms will be on a request basis only and subject to a supplement.

Sunday

We depart Plymouth at 7am and head north towards Sheffield, making comfort stops along the way and a longer lunch break. We aim to arrive at our hotel late afternoon giving you time to check in and relax before you first evening meal.

Monday

After breakfast you will have a fascinating tour of the house and gardens at Wortley Hall, originally an ancestral home, which is steeped in history and heritage. This afternoon we will head into the Peak District and visit the elegant spa town of Buxton before continuing onto the delightful town of Bakewell, famous for its Bakewell Pudding and Tart.

Tuesday

This morning we head down to the market town of Chesterfield, famous for its "Crooked Spire". This afternoon we enjoy a single journey on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway between Wirksworth and Duffield.

Wednesday

Explore Summer Wine country today, visiting Holmfirth which is a quirky and lovely market town. It is home to Nora Batty’s steps, Sid’s Café and Compo’s former home, which is now the Last of the Summer Wine Exhibition and Wrinkled Stocking Tea Room. Enjoy a unique 45 minute TV locations tour on a narrow-bodied 25 seater coach (ideal for the local narrow roads). We will return via the scenic "Snake Pass" and past the reservoirs where the famous Dambusters trained in WW2.

Thursday

Sadly we must head home today, we will make comfort stops and a longer stop for lunch on our journey home. We aim to arrive back in Plymouth mid evening.
