Friday

We depart Plymouth at 8am, making a coffee stop along the way, before heading to the beautiful city of Worcester for a lunch stop. Stroll along the tranquil banks of the River Severn, admire the magnificent medieval Cathedral or head for the variety of stores on offer in the High Street, where you will find a mix of well known names plus many independent boutique shops to browse. We then have just a short journey to our hotel to check in and enjoy our evening meal.

Today’s excursion begins across the border in Ludlow where we meet our tour guide who will show us around the “Black and White Villages”. Tours typically include medieval Pembridge, Kington on the River Arrow and Weobley – the Jewel in the Crown of the trail. The route takes us through some of the prettiest medieval villages and countryside where you will find the famous and distinctive black and white timbered houses.

Sunday

After a leisurely breakfast we head to Spetchley Park Gardens which lies just on the outskirts of Worcester and is said to be one of Britain’s best kept secrets. It has been home to the Berkeley family for over 400 years and offers 4500 acres of garden, a deer park, lakes, a tea room for refreshments or a light lunch and a Grade II listed country mansion (the house is not open to the public). We leave here mid-late afternoon aiming to arrive back into Plymouth early evening.
