£285 per person

 

 

Price Includes:  3 night’s Dinner, Bed & Breakfast Accommodation at the 3 star Bells Hotel & Forest of Dean Golf Club, Coleford, plus a River Wye Cruise, return journey on the Dean Forest Railway and visits to Weston Super Mare, Monmouth, Chepstow and Bath. 

 

There is no lift at this hotel, but there are over 30 ground floor rooms, which must be requested at the time of booking if required.

 

There will be no single room supplement for the first 5 guests to book.  Extra rooms will be on a request basis only and subject to a supplement. 

Monday

We depart Bretonside at 9am and make our way to Weston Super Mare for a lunch stop. You will have time for a stroll around this popular seaside resort, complete with a traditional pier and famous donkeys! We then continue our journey towards the Forest of Dean arriving at our hotel mid to late afternoon in time to check in.

Tuesday

This morning we will visit the Georgian market town of Monmouth, famous for its unique 13th century Monnow Bridge. It is situated where the River Minnow meets the River Wye just 2 miles from the English border. This afternoon we enjoy a relaxing 40 minute cruise along the River Wye from Symonds Yat West, which has long been considered one of most spectacular stretches of the Wye Valley.

Wednesday

We will travel through the Wye Valley today, making a coffee stop at the magnificent ruins of Tintern Abbey. We then continue onto the historic walled border town of Chepstow, which is dominated by the oldest surviving stone castle in Britain. We then return into the delightful Forest of Dean for a relaxing round trip from Norchard Station; this may be on a diesel or steam hauled train.

Thursday

After breakfast we must start our journey home, we will make a lunch stop in Bath. You may chose to visit the beautiful Abbey, famous Roman Baths (will incur an entry fee) or just browse the shops. We will leave here late afternoon aiming to arrive back into Plymouth early evening.
